Journalism Clinic project launched


The Media Development Centre (MEDEC) and the Centre for Public Interest Law (CEPIL) on Tuesday launched its first journalism clinic in Accra with the theme; ‘Building Media Capacities to Enhance Partnerships for Sustainable Environmental Governance’.

A media-focused NGO, Media Development Centre (MEDEC) has officially launched its triannual media capacity-building workshop dubbed ‘Journalism Clinic’ in Accra.
At the launch that saw over 50 student journalists participating, President of MEDEC Mr. Okunyin Boaz Orlan-Hackman stated that there was the need for journalists in the country to focus their attention to issues affecting society rather than those that merely created sensation and sometimes heightening political tension.

NGO launches journalism clinic

NGO, Media for Development Centre has bemoaned the low level of media coverage on environmental issues.

The centre is worried that issues such as sanitation, pollution, forest degradation and climate change among others receive very little media attention.

NGO advocates development journalism

Accra, Sept. 3, GNA -The Media Development Centre (MEDEC), a non-governmental organization with the objective of developing need-specific programmes for enhancing socio-economic development, on Tuesday launched a programme dubbed: "Journalism Clinic" to help build the capacity of journalists in specific fields.

Accra, Wednesday September 4, 2013.  The Media Development Centre (MEDEC) has in collaboration with the Centre for Public interest Law (CEPIL) launched a capacity building programme for trainee journalists with the aim of recruiting 250 new journalists to focus on environment and natural resource reporting.
